Good context deserves
to outlast your next agent.
MarkdownMem is built around a simple idea: the useful context you save should be yours to read, edit, and carry between tools.
Why this exists
Working with a new agent often means explaining the same project, preferences, and decisions again. A better model or a different harness should be a chance to move forward with what you have already learned.
MarkdownMem gives that context a home in ordinary Markdown files. Connect compatible MCP agents to the same store, and they can work with the same saved notes. You can inspect and edit those notes in the browser, too.
Built by someone who uses agents
MarkdownMem was created by Emilio Esposito, an AI engineering leader and software builder who also operates businesses. His work spans production AI systems, agent tooling, and software for day-to-day operations.
That work shapes the product: useful memory should be easy to find, straightforward to correct, and available in the next tool you choose. Explore Emilio's background and projects.
An open foundation
The Agent Filetree Memory engine is public and self-hostable. You can inspect how it works and run it yourself under its open-source license.
MarkdownMem is the hosted product built on that engine, with its own interface, account management, and operations. Our security page explains the service's access and encryption boundaries.
